I agree with you: the “mothers” who commit an abortion should be punished along with other murderers. Prehaps in many cases clemecy would be a justified, but exempting the mothers or their male accomplices altogether is a travesty of justice.
Still his error is on the side of mercy, or perhaps on the side fo political expediency not an the side of the pro-aborts. Politically, greater incremental progress can be made if the mothers are not blamed.
