As you well know, the great thing about someone being
a Jack Mormon is that they now have the possibility of
being open to the truth they’ve had suppressed their
whole lives.

I think the term, Jack Mormon, has different meanings depending on where it is used.
In the culture I lived in, it was used for those many who were once baptized as mormons, but never cared enough about the church to become "temple" mormons, but because of the difficulties presented by the mormon church in leaving it, were, and are still carried on church rolls.
That includes many of my family members.
