If you don’t know that you were dead, you will not know the fullness of the love of God.

I think this is at the heart of sharing the Gospel.

I was raised going to church but it was part of the apostate PC(USA) and I never truly understood what Christ had done for me until about a year ago. Sin was never discussed in the church where I went. I attend a different bible-believing church now and so does my aunt. I keep encouraging my mother and brother to do the same - but they don't see any reason to leave even though they always complain about what goes on at their church.

It's not like the pastor at my church is preaching fire and brimstone every week (far from it) but if you don't know you are sick how do you receive the cure?
