As a Los Angeles Catholic I ask must this Mahoney offend at every turn? I feel so very angry and sad when these sort of events and policies go against our American laws (previous stands on protecting/supporting and even hiding illegals etc) and get political. It makes it very difficult to feel connected to the larger diocese and to feel renewed at at peace with my own church. Very sad. This is no mistake and that is what makes it so very malicious. If it was an honoring without all the political connotations that would be quite another thing, but sadly it is not. This man should be given the big boot.

Amen to that.
Mahony is a poor excuse for a bishop.
There is no way I would support the LA diocese in any way.

Mahoney wants justice? Let him lead a demonstartion in Mexico City to demand that the bloodsuckers take care of their own people and not send them north to invade the United States.
