This is how disturbed a real shepherd makes the sheep of his flock:
The LORD is my shepherd,
I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside quiet waters.
He restores my soul;
He guides me in the paths of righteousness
For His name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I fear no evil, for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You have anointed my head with oil;
My cup overflows.
Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
I would wonder if Rev. Warren shouldnt go back to his roots. Rethink his relationship with Jesus. Seems that his ego has overcome his relationship with our God.

***The HIV/AIDS initiative at Saddleback is a key part of Rick Warrens P.E.A.C.E. plan, a humanitarian strategy launched three years ago. The goal of the worldwide effort is to mobilize one billion church members to Promote reconciliation, Equip servant leaders, Assist the poor, Care for the sick and Educate the next generation. ***
And where is: Follow God’s word, Abstain from Sex until Married, Abstain from extra-curricular sex after marriage, and so on?
I see much that would cause me to become a member of his church, nothing that would cause be to accept Jesus as my Lord a Savior.
What is happening with him? (Warren) I am truly mystified.
Rick Warren’s church appeals to me as much as Hillary does.
Easier for a camel’s rope to pass through the eye of a needle... Too much association with the megarich,
3 [11-14] These verses provide the motivation for the love that is encouraged in Romans 13:8-10.
4 [13] Let us conduct ourselves properly as in the day: the behavior described in Romans 1:29-30 is now to be reversed. Secular moralists were fond of making references to people who could not wait for nightfall to do their carousing. Paul says that Christians claim to be people of the new day that will dawn with the return of Christ. Instead of planning for nighttime behavior they should be concentrating on conduct that is consonant with avowed interest in the Lord's return.
Agreed. I covered that under Follow God’s word. If we did that, there would be no problems :>)
Billy Graham admitted this happened to him in an interview some years ago and it almost destroyed his ministry. Rev. Graham got a wake-up call and took a giant step back from political activism.
Rev. Warren would be wise to do the same.
I guess I am just so puzzled about this person who did write a preety good book — or so I hear. I have not read it.
It was more a self-help book than anything else.
I want your heart to be seriously disturbed. — Rick Warren
Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled — GOD
Well, then-I can hardly wait for Saddleback Churchs flu summit!
I'm sure the moneychangers in the temple felt respected.
Whether Warrnen’s “Purpose Driven” books(s) are any good depends on whether you want your flesh to be puffed up or, on contrast, you (a believer) want your soul nourished, or you (a lost person) are being called by God and want to know Him.
Purpose Driven is mainly good for puffing up the flesh, with very little nourishment for the soul - clinging tightly to bones of deception.
I’ve read both and critiqued them - here http://menofhonorministry.org/Discipleship/ThePurposeDrivenLife.htm and here http://brogdensmuse.menofhonorministry.org/Apologetics/PDC.htm
As for the AIDS propaganda, there is not yet scientific consensus, much less proof, as to what causes AIDs - or what AIDS is (the government changes the definition from time to time). Interesting reading here - http://www.duesberg.com/
OH, . . ..the PROFUNDITY ! !
That reading is going to be the second reading for tommorrow’s Sunday Mass, First Sunday in Advent when the focus is on the Lord’s coming at the end of the age.
