Shame, churches, shame,
For this brand of "creative worship."
Lame, music, lame--
That's what you admire.
Spine, churches, spine--
Blending in isn't so "courageous."
Check out your roots,
Church, and sing some real hymns.
LOL!
I won’t vote to ban any, but I’ll play Sinatra’s “Here’s To The Losers” in honor of those that qualify. I’d only have trouble with the final part where Sinatra sings “Bless ‘em all”.
BTW, the parody you provided here is great because it highlights one of my all-time least favorite hymns. It has to be an ELCA staple. Thank God I haven’t heard it yet at our LCMS church (yes, they do have contemporary services...do I go? Not very often).
Reverend, it appears you’ve spent a lot of time in agony during services trying not to yield to the temptation to bite your own ears off.
For Megachurches, it would be “Shall we Gather By the Food Court”.
For everyone else, “Louie, Lousie”.
Do you take requests? I’d love to see you skewer “Pass It On”, one of the most treacly saccharine songs ever.
I can’t stand that Shine Jesus Shine song. That’s one that just makes me want to throw-up.
