All men are not saved. All will be resurrected some where/when, some to honor and some to damnation. They will be resurrected because they were given at conception of them an aspect which is eternal, the spirit of the man/woman. The Bride of Christ is so precious to Christ that ‘She’ will not be stood up for judgment seat handling because She is under the blood of Jesus and ‘atoned for by the price He paid to redeem her.’ I’m sure you can read about the kinsman redemer and comprehend this truth (and Paul will help you if you read Romans and Hebrews in the New Testament). The Judgemnt Seat of Christ will not be a pretty picture and Christ will not subject His precious Bride to this fearful event.
Good point, MHG. Most LDS totally skip over John 5:29: And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
LDS tout that ALL are "saved" unto immortality and a resurrected life, even if first they are "damned" up (sidetracked) in spirit prison, awaiting the Mormon missionaries in spiritual white shirts & ties to stop on by their prison cell door to give 'em one more chance.
But notice those three words in what I just wrote: "saved...resurrected life." But the apostle John makes it VERY CLEAR in John 5:29 that just as there's a "resurrection of life"--there is an opposite "resurrection" of "damnation!"
To hear tell it from sloppy LDS theologians, a "resurrection of damnation" is a form of "salvation!!!" (Uh, I think I'll pass that version of "salvation," thank you).
Also, note the extreme American colloquialism that Smith employed to shorten the eternality of hell for folks. He reserved hell for Satan, his angels, and apostates (and perhaps those who reject the Mormon gospel the second time around). How did he do this? Well, he took a purely English combo word, "damned up" and said to himself, "Hey, this phrase is pretty close to "damnation." I think I can fool folks into believe that to be damned is to be damned up.
Of course, this leaves at least TWO MAJOR problems:
"damnation" in the Greek DOES NOT mean "damned up" and only those who think that English is the language of the gods are so easily fooled.
(2) All kinds of Book of Mormon & D&C "scriptures" which use the words "eternal" and "everlasting" as an adjective for describing heaven and eternal life are the same exact adjectives use to describe hell--and in fact in the same exact sentences. What does that mean? That means that heaven is as eternal and everlasting as hell is.
