You know, this is the thing that I understand least about this group. Your post is the most a propos we’ve had here in a long time. Ultimately, why not go to God for the answers?

If the anti’s didn’t have us to battle w/, they’ve be duling it out w/ each other as they have for centuries. Why? b/c when all is said & done, all they have is opinions & their own interpretations. Period. We’ve been pointing out for months now all the contradictions, mis/disinformation, distortions, lies, etc., etc., etc.

The bottom line is this, they might be right, we might be right, but is it right just cause we say so or b/c others have said so for a long time. The ones who are right are the ones that the Lord says are right. How do we know what he says? Is it through the scriptures alone where there are contradictions & various interpretations (i.e.,grace vs. works, Trinity, ect.), or is truth about these matters found by asking the author of it all? What in the world is so scary about that? He’s asked us to ask Him, so it’s not like going against His will. He wants us to ask & is willing to answer. That’s according to the scriptures!

So, those that are sincere will ask, those that aren’t will continue to lean on their own wisdom & sophistry's of the world. For those that have sincerely asked & received an answer contrary to mine, I can have no quarrel w/ that. But for those that would say that the Lord doesn’t answer those prayers, they are in direct contradiction to the scriptures & rely on their own wisdom not b/c they have to but b/c they want to.

For those of you lurkers out there, our challenge is to put these things to the test. Never have we said that people should believe just b/c Joseph Smith said so. He challenged us just as we challenge you. Ask the Lord! What more definitive answer could you ever receive? But ask sincerely w/ an open mind & heart, & our testimony is that you will receive. That is the testimony of the scriptures as well. I’ll take the Lord’s word over man’s any day. Sadly, many will not do likewise. I pray for them.
