A recent survey in Italy showed that more people prayed to him than to Jesus or the Virgin Mary.

Another example of media misreporting. Catholics do not pray to saints.

No, we do pray to saints, in the sense in asking them to pray for us. The Hail Mary is a prayer directed to Mary.

Catholics do not pray to saints.

Just trying to understand--could you explain this then? [puzzled, sincerely trying to understand Catholicism]

Catholics pray to saints in the same manner I am posting to you or I talk to my neighbor. In essence, praying and talking are essentially the same. When we ask for something, we do it in Jesus' name or God's name. That saint or even someone else that has died and is in heaven can ask God for a favor for you.

What a hit piece. Padre must still be having an impact in Godless Italy.

I was taught that believers don't pray TO saints, they pray WITH them. When two are gathered in the Lord's name...He is with them.

My girlfriend’s family is Catholic, from Brooklyn, and they pray to saints all the time, they constantly tell me all their prayers to various saints to help them in various ways.

My girlfriend, thank God, no longer believes in doing that...

A more bald faced lie I have not seen on this board.
