The more highly educated Americans were much less likely to believe the creation account as literally true. While 73 percent of adults who did not attend college believe this story is literally accurate, only 38 percent of college graduates hold that view. More proof of the uselessness of College edyumcayshun these days.

Could Jesus have literally built the temple back up in three days? He could have and did. He was speaking of his body.

BTW and yes, even if he had meant the literal Temple in Jerusalem, he could have.

That’s the problem, modern Christians are reluctant to recognize the authority of the Apostle Paul despite Christ Himself appearing to him just to let us know this was His man. It’s sad and and evil IMO.

Once upon a time while at an evening fundraiser for a local episcopal parish, the priest was heard to say - ‘we all know that Christ isn’t coming back anytime soon, if at all’. And he was a former catholic priest to boot.

I have no problem with most Biblical stories. Whats so surprising about David and Goliath? Slingers were a major component of armies of the day. A shot from a sling was deadly. It was the classic case of a man (Goliath) armed only with a knife showing up at a gunfight (Davids sling). David was however, the only one with the courage to stand up to the big guy. Many of the miracles of the Bible have been explained as natural phenomena. The miracle was in their timing. They happened when they were needed.

Could Jesus have literally built the temple back up in three days? He could have built it back up in three picoseconds ... or even in no span of time at all.
He's God.

America could not have been founded without Christianity. In that sense, Jesus certainly rose from the dead.

He resurrected in three days. Now try to keep up. Fercryinoutloud.............You're totally missing my point which is not unusual for most to do because the point is so easily missed . Even if Jesus was talking about the "Jewish Temple," could he have raised it back up in three days?
If you answer the question correctly, as "yes," explain why...

Lets see...Jesus is God. God created the Universe in six...I think he could handle the temple in three...im just sayin......And that's the point! Congradulations!! So it made those around him who were laughing, look like embeciles. He also told the WHOLE truth about the matter, and furthermore should convince you all there is so much more to scripture than meets the eye at first glance.

Yes, he could have been speaking of the Jewish Temple and his body while maintaining total truth about the matter. This was my whole point.

He's God.That's my point! So those who laughed at him or scoffed were so foolish because even if he would have been speaking of the Jewish Temple the statement was still the truth!

"On the one hand we have tens of millions of people who view these narratives as reflections of the reality, the authority and the involvement of God in our lives. On the other hand, a majority of those same people harbor a stubborn indifference toward God and His desire to have intimacy with them. In fact, a minority of the people who believe these stories to be true consistently apply the principles imbedded in these stories within their own lives, Barna continued.
That's because believing is easier than behaving.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t Barna behind an “un-church” movement, set to dissuade people from the importance of corporate worship? I thought I remember reading a book of his perhaps that was trying to make a case for the effectiveness of being a “lone wolf”. You know, part of the unscriptural “Just me and my Bible!” crowd?
