Pure Catholicspeak.

Remember, there is no teaching of the RCC which is so clear it cannot be denied, redefined, or modified as required.

The only reason you can't understand is due to some personal roadblock, whether it be pride, ignorance, hardness of heart, or something else.

Understand what? I will agree with the "something else" while I admit being guilty of all the others at times. I try but I have failed many times.

Perhaps you would attempt to enlighten me by giving an understandable definition of "Unanimous Consent Of The Fathers".

I am having difficulty with the following:

The word “unanimous” comes from two Latin words: únus, one + animus, mind. “Consent” in Latin means agreement, accord and harmony; being of the same mind or opinion. Where the Fathers speak in harmony, with one mind overall - not necessarily each and every one agreeing on every detail but by consensus and general agreement - we have “unanimous consent.” There, the teachings of the Fathers provide us with an authentic witness to the apostolic tradition.

I admit my knowledge of Latin, one semester approximately 60 years ago, is all but useless but I do recall a few root words. Try as I could to lighten my "hardness of heart" The root "unus" meant only one thing to me - one.

I resorted to my "cheat sheet", a free online Latin/English utility. Alas, I am still confused.

one, only one, at the same time, single, alone, unparalleled

Please enlighten me.
