The field for the next Episcopal Bishop of Chicago is out and Yips has the early line. The line-up seems to be pretty much standard-issue TEC left. There's the obligatory homosexual. This guy's on the board of Planned Parenthood. And the Rev. Margaret Rose, TEC's Director of Womens Ministries, is famous for this celebrated episode.
What's going to happen? Some liberal will win but don't hold me to that. Don't know who the favorite would be at this point but I'm pulling for Rose. I have to figure that her consecration ceremony would be extremely interesting. Perhaps even vaguely Christian.
A surprise to the Captain and a disappointment to this department is the absence of Chicago's own Bonnie "It's a Walther 9mm Semiautomatic, Not Oysters Rockefeller It's a River, Not a Pie" Perry from consideration as the homosexual candidate. I still think Ms. Perry's "It's a Tilapia Filet, Not a Belt Sander It's a River, Not a Pie" was a great sermon and I looked forward to beating that concept to death some more reading more of her contributions.
God bless the faithful in this struggle. In the end, Jesus will win, no matter who says what in this age.
She’s a codfish, not a priest!!!!
