No, we don't repent for all future sins. Jesus' work applies to us because HE is divine. His work "in the Temple not constructed by human hands" is within the context of eternity. Remember, Jesus is God AND man. What He did as man was ALSO done by God. That is not so of us. Jesus one work is presented to the Father in eternity, our work of repentance MUST be repeated.

I am at a loss to understand the concept of repenting for something we haven't yet done!

But what we are talking about is salvation and entry into Heaven. It is the difference between necessary AND sufficient, and necessary BUT insufficient.
