as to selling the cathedral...who in the wrold would buy that monstrosity??? It's the ugliest building I've ever seen!

The land under it is valuable. Consider the cathedral a tear-down. Not unheard of in LA.

At least when my home Archdiocese’s cathredral was being rebuilt after the old one was distroyed by a major fire, there was common sense to at least make it look like cathredral in the modern sense.
