Myers (sp.) I think is supposed to be vaguely “in charge” or lend them credibility or something. As I recall, the original architect of Renew was Abp. Gerety, a former Abp. of Newark. Gerety was a problem in many ways. For some reason, Myers signed on to renew the Renew program. I think there was a FR thread about it at the time.
I found the thread from 2003 when I started looking:
Time for Renew-al (Abshp. Dolan to implement Renew 2000). Apparently, they used to be a lot more, well, flamboyant -- outright Wiccan elements, etc. They seem to have toned down quite a bit -- I just question whether they really have or the blandness of their website and questionnaire is just a form of
omerta (if that's the word I want).
