Just wanted to share what is happening in the Philadelphia Archdiocese with the Traditional latin mass. This is a link to a webpage that has the mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in plymouth Township. The pics are from June 10th and there are midi files of the choir singing.

Here's a pic of our local Latin Mass parish - St. Francis de Sales, Mableton.

It used to be a Baptist chapel. The exterior gives NO idea of the treasures within:

I can just imagine a Baptist strolling up and walking in, and fainting on the doorstep . . ..

I love to see the chapel veils and hats on the ladies.

I hate to be critical of a sacred event, but notice the median age of the attendees at that mass.

Sorry to say the median age of all denominations are like that. 25% of the people attend church and the 25% is made up of 55 + age

I wish you could have seen the Latin Mass at our Cathedral.

Lot of young singles, young marrieds, and families with young children, as well as us 50-somethings with and without teenagers and the grandparents. A family of six sat right behind us and the little children were SO well behaved and mannerly! Even the little five-year-old girl in her miniature veil followed the service, with her daddy pointing out the place in the missal.

Not our parish. We have LOTS of little ones - the entire narthex is our 'crying room' and it's usually full up just with the CRANKY babies!

Our former Parochial Vicar, Father Luke, now Director of Vocations for the Archdiocese, shows some of the preschoolers how to genuflect before the Tabernacle.

I just got back from Tridentine daily mass (FSSP) - probably 50 in attendance, median age was probably 25.

That picture is precious! To think, some bishops “discourage” this “old fashioned” practice of genuflecting!

So a Catholic parish? Wow. Seems large attendance; is that due to First Friday?

Correct. The poor priest — the confession line continued almost out the door.

This is amazing. So these FSSP priests are really answering a need?

Our young priests are all highly orthodox. Our newest and youngest Parochial Vicar can't wait for the M/P. I wouldn't be surprised if he announces a schedule on Sunday . . . . he is that fired up.

Our older PV is already throwing Latin into his NO Masses - and as I said, the Rector invited the FSSP in to celebrate a Latin Mass with deacons, altar boys, Schola and all (the altar servers are going to have to get intensive training to handle the TLM. There is a LOT going on and it's very different - plus they'll have to learn the responses in Latin!)

Again, I would not be surprised if the good fathers over at the FSSP parish have been providing training to local priests in anticipation of the Big Event.

This is, from what I understand, one of the most orthodox parishes in the area. Others are St. Brigid's in Alpharetta and of course St. Francis de Sales in Mableton, the FSSP parish. We have our complement of kumbaya parishes, but we seem to be undergoing a resurgence of the traditional. I think the fate of the Episcopalians (not to mention so many of us escaped from the wreck to give an Awful Warning) has helped that process along.

that pic of saint frances looks great! Nice to see they made the sanctuary look more ‘Catholic’ than what it used to look like.

they look terrific!
Where is the choir seated at? Is there a loft or gallery for them?
