The very obvious point that Christianity hinges on the divinity of Christ is denied by a good part of liberal Episcopalians. Ex Bishop Spong even denies the existence of a physical God.

How a Christian denomination can get so far away from the core of the faith is the tragedy of our times. Heresy is not easy to stop without many hurt feelings.
