I presume that you would hold Christ Jesus as some authority on the matter?
Yes and Col 3:16 points out that the whole book is His Word, not just the red letters.

But the red letters would be the words from His mouth, and the bedrock upon which you approach the Father. The rest would be second and third hand, and the rulings of things like the magisterium not on the radar at all. I'll limit myself to His direct teaching.
