GOOD MORNING SAINTS!
I was discussing evangelism with my pastor, specific to 12 steppers and AA members, one of who I’m speaking to at my workplace. Relevant to the first devotion, he recommended that I listen to what my coworker needs and then supply the good news from scripture regarding what meets those needs. Specifically, he said that in his experience substance abusers often feel a great emptyness and recommended Matthew 11: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
There’s nothing wrong with talking about the good news . . .
God has done marvelous things!
I, too, shall praise Him with a new song!
