The three Persons, then, are not separate. But they are distinct. The Father is God, the Son is God, the Holy Ghost is God. But the Father is not the Son, nor the Son the Holy Ghost, nor the Holy Ghost the Father. This is in the 1st Grade religion workbook that Sally and Pat were fighting over earlier today. (We distracted Pat with Greek.)
You can say it as many times as you want to, but it might as well be "Bliggle iggle iggle" for all sense it makes to the rational mind.
Unless we know the Holy Trinity through experience, everything we know about the Holy Trinity is just repetition of random words.

A precis of the Trinity from the book Theology and Sanity by Frank Sheed. Thanks so much. I've heard Catholic Answers praise his explanation of the Trinity often, and the Trinity is the central mystery of our faith, yet I still haven't bought the book. Sometimes I don't know what I'm thinking. I'll have to try the download.
