An ordained UM elder/minister he (or she, or it) may be, but if he's a Christian he'll either get his church out of Methodism or get his glutes out of his church. Like Peggy Noonan mused about the GOP, "it's time. It's more than time."

And I probably should apologize for that dig - it's a bit unfair since neither the Episcopalians nor the Methodists have as of yet attempted to ordain non-humans (though from what I understand, they are welcome in the congregation).

The Lord has not released me yet. He might, but it appears that He requires faithfulness of the remnant within the churches of Pergamum & Thyatira (both similar to the UMC.) Look this up in Rev 2 & 3....you'll see that He doesn't counsel...DEPART!

However, he does mention to the church of Ephesus that He DOES remove candlesticks. In other words, the Lord lets us know when HE closes a church. He won't keep it open if there is NO LIGHT being sent to the world. Without light, they have no need of a candlestick.

There are shining examples of light being shed forth in our region, and other regions in the US and Africa/Asia/SAmerica, but I know that there are areas where the light that is shed is darkness. I am sorry for the area where you live that apostasy has so taken hold. I do not dispute that.
