To equate anyone with Jesus Christ, the world’s only Redeemer, is deeply offensive to Christians.
Who is "equating" anyone with Jesus Christ? Not Catholics.

I guess some people are afraid that we might insult their religion but it is just fine for them to insult Catholics by implying that we aren't Christians.
