I was a member of GS from Brownies through Seniors, then as a troop asst when I was in college and a young wife/mother. I organized and led Day Camp. I was an asst leader when my daughter was in the Brownies and a leader when she was in Jrs. My daughter dropped out at the Cadet level. I was sad that she did so but even sadder that the organization I had loved and supported had moved so far to the left. I would not recommend Girl Scouts today. I am appalled by the direction they have taken and while I think locally things may not be too bad, GS is more than the local troop. Some money raised at the local level goes to National and National is a very liberal.

Whatever happened to Campfire Girls? And there is always 4H.
My daughters were both Camp Fire girls (Bluebirds first, of course) and I was a leader for both of them in California. It was a very positive experience. But, then we moved, and there was no organization in Texas. They joined Swim Team, instead.
