It wasn’t just a try.
By looking at the entire body of scriptures pertaining to the end times, it is understood there is no flying off into the atmosphere for God’s people.
In fact, in Matthew 24 the scripture plainly states that there will be much persecution for God’s people and some will even be killed. No mention of any flying off into space though.
Those who are alive and remain unto His coming will be changed, clothed with the same glory as Jesus, where “death is swallowed up in victory.”
That is ongoing. India, Pakistan, Indonesia, Red China, and all through Africa. It had commenced in Judea before the scriptures were even complete.
