It amazes me that Tito’s filthy defamation campaign continues to this day, right here on Free Republic.
It's amusing . . . although I'm getting a little tired of both the "Hitler's Pope" and the "Ustache" stories. Never any documentation, just tired old recycled rumors from Communists anxious to discredit the church. Says more about people who credulously swallow the stories whole, than anything else.
The Western press has never accepted the evil character of the Communist dictatorship in Yugoslavia, and even the anti-Communist socialists in the West shared with their Communist adversaries, a hatred of the Catholic Church. Hence the canonization of “The Deputy.” since the Catholic Church was —and is—the greatest enemy of socialist materialism, in both its hard and soft forms of dictatorship.
