The scary part is that there are some who fully endorse it. Some (the vast minority, I'll add) who post on the FR Religion Forum.

I can't think of more than two or three pro-Chick FReepers that I've encountered in my six + years of posting here. IMO the whole "Jack Chick" thing has been little more than a strawman used against Protestants at various times - certainly far more often than the legitimate cases warrant.

I'm not a Chick supporter, but I've been accused of it a couple of times myself.

There are plenty of FReepers who repeat the same nonsense and lies Chick tells. (Check out the "What really happened at Easter" thread for a contemporary example.)

They'll tell you that Catholics resacrifice Jesus at Mass, that Catholics are Babylonian pagans, that Catholics think the Pope is equal to God, that Catholics worship Mary as a goddess, and that the Catholic Church is the Whore of Revelation. Most weeks on FR, you can find every one of those slams posted at least once.

Those comments are repugnant by themselves, whether or not they're accompanied by Chick's comics.

I, likewise, can only think of two or three posters here (may not be any more) who are explicitly pro-Chick (thus the vast minority comment).

I can, however, think of several posters here who are into the old Babylon Mystery Religion thing like Chick was, even though they don't cite Chick.

I would say a caricature. At least that's how and when I use it.
