To laugh at others, though, while something many humans do, is neither defining of humans nor one of out finer activities. Displays of contempt notoriously have an unsettling boomerang-like effect.

That doesn't mean people don't improve. Right now we only have one priest. The associate that was sent here last summer has gone to work as a lobbyist in Washington DC. (I have no idea about what's going on with that.)

It was unexpected that he would leave when he did and so now we only have our Monsignor and the retired priest who does the Hispanic service.

In other words, we NEED extra priests for confession. Hope we get a new associate soon. We will probably have to wait until July, though.

The author of that quote was counted among the most learned people of his time and was credited with encyclopedic [for his times] knowledge. And for your benefit, quoting with attribution provided is not plagiarizing. Plagiarizing is to quote the others' stuff as one's own, and attributing it to one's own smarts and effort.
