You're right, the Blessed Virgin Mary is OUR mother (she is the Mother of the Church) and at times, due to our sinful natures, we make ourselves alien to Him.This is why, when sometimes reading what you folks write, I just sit back, shake my head and chuckle.....not bothering to invade your caucus....letting things be. That is simply goofy.

26 When Jesus therefore had seen his mother and the disciple standing whom he loved, he saith to his mother: Woman, behold thy son. 27 After that, he saith to the disciple: Behold thy mother. And from that hour, the disciple took her to his own. (John 19:26-27)
At the Crucifixion, John represented the entire Church, He gave His mother to the Church, we took her as our mother.
