Yup....it's called the Bible! [Amos 9:9] For, lo, I will command, and I will sift the house of Israel among all nations, like as corn is sifted in a sieve, yet shall not the least grain fall upon the earth.
And...a recent news item... Israelites in India ....from another respected source.
A researcher, that would be ONE researcher, makes a CLAIM. To be more complete, there is, evidently, a tradition of a Jewish heritage in the area. On the other hand, in the article another researcher is quoted as saying that there is no Jewish DNA and consequently the claim will probably not be conclusive.
So to sum up, the evidence this article provides is a claim and a tradition.
And before we get into another "ethnos" controversy, sifting could be separating not mingling.
I say again: If two things have a 50% probability of being true, the probability that they are both true at once is only 25%. If a theory depends on, say three things being true when each of those things has a 50% chance of bdeing true, that theory has only a 12.5%, or one in eight, chance of being true.
SOMEBODY's got to keep track here. There are a number of "Well, it COULD be," propositions, too often offered as slam dunks. But the theory advanced seems to require that all of them be true at once. The smart money bets ... how?
