I'm at least glad that you write what you THOUGHT I meant.
I'll tell you in my own words.
The Lord Jesus Christ is to me: Savior, Redeemer, King, Wonder-Counselor, Prince of Peace, my God and my All.
As a Christian, I know I am called to be a "Christ-bearer", an "ambassador for Christ": "all of us, gazing on the Lord's glory with unveiled faces, are being transformed from glory to glory into his very image by the Lord who is the Spirit". (2 Cor.3:18) And: "Christ is everything in all of you." (Col 3:11)
And more from that chapter:
"because you are God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with heartfelt mercy, with kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. Bear with one another; forgive one another. Forgive as the Lord has forgiven you. Over all these virtues put on love, which binds the rest together and makes then perfect. Christ's peace must reign in your hearts, since as members of one body you have been called to that peace....whatever you do, whether in speech or action, do it in the name of the Lord Jesus."
By "living the Christ life", I mean "I live now, not I, but Chirst in me"--that is, as long as I take seriously the words of St. Paul cited above.
When I pray to Him, I am alone with Him; He sees me as I am and I come to Him as I am, and I know His Presence.
There is nothing more I can say.
Chirst=Christ.
It is late here and I am a tired old human being.
I never said I lived His life in the sense that I was Him, or my own savior. Maybe you didn't really read my last post.
There was no need for a flag to go up.
I don't get it, why you keep coming back to say I said what I didn't say, but what you think I said.
I think this is the finish for me. Life and time are too precious and in too short suppy for me now to put any more effort into translating myself.
God's blessings on you, Gamecock.
suppy=supply :-)
I have no doubt that there are Christians in the Catholic church...I have however read on FR threads where only priests, bishops, popes and the magisterium are filled with the Spirit of Truth which is the Holy Spirit...
If you (anyone) are a saved Christian, then you are filled with the Holy Spirit...If your church doesn't teach you that, there's something wrong there...Look at this verse:
Rom 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
Can't get any clearer than that...If you're not filled with the Holy Spirit, you are not one of God's...
ALL Christians are filled with the Spirit of Truth...
The last 10 will be Protestants...
Is this the teaching of your church??? What bible do they teach this out of??? Look at your own Catholic Douay-Rheims bible:
2Co 3:18 But we all, beholding the glory of the Lord with open face, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, as by the Spirit of the Lord.
You are not in a process of being transformed...You have been transformed...There's a world of difference...And of course, the KJV wording:
2Co 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
It's a done deal...You are not working on salvation...You got it...Right now...You are adopted as a Son and your inheritance can't be taken away...
Please don't post to me anymore.
I also won't post to you.
God bless you.
That is not the Roman Catholic Church which is a particular denomination and even many of them do not call themselves Christians.
I don't recall which thread it was (nor does it really matter) ... thank you in any case. You provide an example of civility to which we all can aspire. Self most definitely included.
I'm sorry you feel that way...I wasn't attacking you...I was trying to encourage you...
I go by the Bible, not the Church Fathers.
There was no RCC in the New Testament.
LOL!
No need to, it is the truth.
And you guys know that nothing in the New Testament is close to the RCC!
Now, I can find the RCC in the New Testament, but not as the church of Christ, but as a corruption of it(Matthew 13) and its end (Rev.17)
Proof of what, that there might not be any Christians in Rome?
Even Roman Catholics do not call themselves Christians!
There are alot of Churches in Rome, but they are just replacements for the old Roman Temples.
Methinks you may have struck a nerve.
You are far too kind in your words, since I'm an incendiary and a blowhard, but I thank you.
