Carnival stealth priestess in the Church of St Francis in Wels "celebrates" Carnival last Tuesday with Communion from the tabernacle.

The Church were the servers wear tiaras and the ministers funny hats

No, I haven't seen anything worse than that. At least it wasn't a mass. Where is Cardinal Schonborn?

"Not a Catholic" here...

For me, the biggest (only?) issue is the "twig" replacing the cross, the female "priestess" being slightly lower on my outrage meter. Am I right in understanding that they celebrated Carnival using the Eucharist/communion elements?

I don't think this counts as liturgical abuse. There wasn't a discernable liturgy.

Looks like people playing some sort of church. Not too different from what my kids do.

More wierdness from Hitler's home parish.

The "twig" is obviously a stipe. The ceremony resembles a pagan fertility rite more than anything. Is this really supposed to be a mass?!

Communion from the tabernacle by the pastoral assistent. From experience, all the people present will either think that it is a Mass or as beneficial as a Mass.

Not Hitler's home parish, Braunau is just down the road.
