I fail to understand your enthusiasm for Dulles. Isn't he a liberal?

Some folks think he is a liberal. Others think that he was one in his younger days.
Other folks see him as a "progressive" gone sour, become a reactionary.
Pope John Paul II seemed to think he was just fine. It's a rare honor to elevate a priest who is not a bishop to the cardinalate.
So, I guess it depends on one's view of Pope John Paul II. If someone thinks he was a liberal, then I suppose that person might think that Cardinal Dulles was one, too. But I think that that would be a minority opinion of the late pontiff.
