I also believe that the God of the OT, is not the same God of the NT. The God of the OT says, "an eye for an eye," which is to say that if a person breaks another person's leg, he should have his own leg broken. That is a God of vengeance and retribution. The NT says, "turn the other cheek," which is to say a God of mercy and forgiveness.

Not my construction on reality.

Given your emphatic pronouncements on the matter . . . perhaps you'd be willing to share how many--as in what % of the paragraphs in the document on the Mel Gibson codes have you read. And what was your summary of the statistics of those codes?
My impression is that the name Mel Gibson came up in connection with Bible code and the automatic derisive dissmissal kicked in with little to no actual reading or analysis of the evidence. I'd love to be wrong.
I'm sure buying Snickers by the gross is a great time-saving convenience.
That was an interesting bit. My own sense is that it's in line with, in keeping with the whole sweep of those codes being of a negative slant, tone, message etc. Kind of cap on it with the 666. What greater 3 character hint of negativity could one find in Scripture given Revelation?
just imho, of course.
Perhaps my favorite scholar hereon--Angel-Gal will have a comment on that vis a vis the above.
can't put the Almighty in a test tube

How are the codes in any way putting God in a test tube? An unwarranted thought, to me.
God put the Codes there. They are inherently part and parcel of the surface text. He has set up many things for believers, particularly, to discover in reality. How could this be any different? I still fail to see how that is so difficult for people to 'get.'
Every word? Every Jot? Every Tittle?
Adam and Eve? The Flood? Sodom & Gomorrah? Sampson? Elijah? Jonah? Daniel in the Lion's den? Six Day Creation?
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
Kewl.
OK, what do you think of this?
I love that doc.
Why not post it in the thread?
Thanks for the ping, dear brother in Christ! But I have no Spiritual leaning about that particular number showing up the way it has in this study.
Much appreciate the reality check.
My own initial response was --eeee gads.
Then as I really read the article more closely and saw that the whole of the many codes were negative right through the whole of the Old Testament with a couple tiny books' exceptions . . . I thought hmmmmm.
Clearly it was no COINCIDENCE, as far as I'm concerned . . . not an accident of God being poor at math . . .
so--it must be part of the message, imho. And what part might that be--a kind of !!Exclamation mark!! on the negative slant of the whole of the Codes, it seems to me.
Just a hypothesis, of course.
Thanks for your kind reply.
Jewish tradition says the Torah existed before the world and certainly that would preclude any coincidences whatsoever. As I recall, that underlying belief is what spurred the search for equidistant letter sequences in the first place.
So I understand, from what I've read, too.
Fascinating possibility, anyway.
If God created the heavens and the earth then everything that could ever be was contained in the matrix. The bottom line, the Torah is the source code of creation.
