Thank you for posting this, sionn. His story is an inspiring and challenging one. I selected the propers from Commons Mass 2 (Statuit ei) for devotions, which has a particularly appropriate epistle on the occasion: James 1:12 et seq, which begins "Blessed is the man that endureth temptation, for when he is tried he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. The attendant Psalms are 89 and 21 (the Gradual and Tract).
