Come to these threads as you are; leave with what you have discovered.

Absolutely no flaming! These daily threads are intended to be devotional in nature. If a particular day's offering says nothing to you, please just go on and wait for the next day. Consider these threads a DMZ of sorts, a place where a perpetual truce is in effect and a place where all other arguments and disagreements from other times and places are left behind.

I can attest from personal experience that reading from Chambers daily will almost certainly change - not one's faith - but one's perspective of his/her own faith, and open up new vistas in your spiritual life. If - when - this happens to a reader of these threads, and they choose to share what has happened within them - we are treading on hallowed ground. Be respectful.

One of the reasons for our sense of futility in prayer is that we have lost our power to visualize.

My sister-in-law was diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer last fall. We began praying. She had a mastectomy on Monday. We held hands and prayed before the surgery. After the surgery we prayed for a complete recovery. Friday we learned that all tests indicate she is cancer free, none in the breast and none in the lymph nodes they removed.

The first thing I told my brother was drop to your knees and thank the LORD!

We don't know what GOD's long term plan is for my sister-in-law, but we are thankful.

There are moments when my smallness comes hammering home,
when I bash my head upon the eye of the needle,
when I know that in true wealth, God's measure,
I am but a pauper, standing here, hat in hand.

O Lord, let not my hardheadedness get in the way of your mercy.
Help me to remember Who is Master,
who is servant,
Who is Giver,
Who controls.

Today, I am confronted with the reality
that the tissues of strength I hide behind
are but paper walls,
and without your strength,
they crumble in the wind.

Help me, Lord to remember
that it is not my strong hand,
but your hand holding mine,
that it is not my strong back,
but your support,
it is not my wisdom,
but the light that comes from you that matters.

Open my heart, Lord,
and let your light in,
and may I,
in the frailty of my life
thank you for your touch,
this day, and always.

Amen.

Wow this is an amazing Reflection. I hope everyone can grasp this. It devestates me to know everyone can have anything they wish, but nobody knows this becuase not many teach it.

The people of God in Isaiah’s time had blinded their minds’ ability to see God by looking on the face of idols...Is it(your idol) your idea of what a servant should be

One of the reasons for our sense of futility in prayer is that we have lost our power to visualize...The power of visualization is what God gives a saint so that he can go beyond himself and be firmly placed into relationships he never before experienced.

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” John 10:10

Hehehe!

I just had LASIL yesterday and I had a vision back in November of 2000 that I would have it and tried to communicate it to someone else but was in a dissociative state.
