From The Examiner newspaper this morning (January 30, 2007):
"Fairfax City police have arrested a 51-year-old Annandale man accused of spray-painting satanic symbols on the doors of Truro Church.
Dwight Lawrence Chase, of 6752 Perry Penney Drive, was reportedly spotted by a parishioner scrawling graffiti on front doors of the large church on Jan. 13, according to a police department news release.Police found three outer doors and one inner door with markings that included 666, which is widely recognized as symbolizing satanism.
The subsequent investigation by city police included analyzing letters Chase allegedly sent to local officials in which he claimed the right to take possession of church property, according to the department. He was arrested at his home on Friday, and faces a felony trespassing charge that carries with it a jail term of at least six months. Truro Church recently left the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia over a long-standing ideological split.

A thief is understandable. Contemptible, but understandable.
A thief steals to enrich himself.
Lazy, dishonest, but understanable. He gains from his theft.
A vandal is an animal, no, LOWER than an animal.
Some animals steal, some animals even commit slavery (slaver ants), but no animal commits vandalism.
A vandal destroys for the pure (perverted) joy of destruction.
Vandals should be killed whenever found.
So says Dear Old Dad.
And so say I.
From the Washington Post, excerpted.
"Chase sent letters to local officials claiming a right to take possession of the church property and signed them "Lawrence Chase Supreme Priest of the Holy Order of Jesus," according to police."
The local paper shows less leftwing bias than does the local police department. They just call it Truro Church.
R.C. Sproul has said that vandalism is a particularly terrible sin because it it sinning for the sheer joy of it.
To be fair, the use of Episcopal could be habit, particularly if the writer were not Episcopalian.
This vandal is definitely a liberal, and he is probably a gay activist with a depraved and semi criminal background.
Now his deprave lifestyle and activities could be judge by this church. Depraved Liberals can't stand any form of judgement.
