Yep, for real. Haven't done a home brew yet (when you used brew alcohol on an industrial scale, home brew seems a bit weak), and my wife flipped last time I tried to boil wort on the stove. My problem is I have to high of an expectation, and hate to fail. I did get a kit for Christmas and I might try that, but I really would love to get a set up to partial germinate my own barely and do things the old fashioned way.
Herriat-Watt Univ. in Scotland (which I probably misspelled badly) has a lot of distance courses, and a masters in brewing was one of them. I got about half way through when my company decided it didn't want me to finish.
