I had a woman who was a convert describe to me how she found the Church. it was a very emotional experience for her as she had been a longtime victim of a stepfather's sexual abuse. as a teen she went to Spain to live with her natural Father who was stationed there on a Navy base. She was free to wander around the adjacent town and had noticed women with covered heads entering a side door of a church. She did not know what a church was but curiosity drew her inside.
She still described that first experience in front the the exposed Blessed sacrament with awe. Entering the darkened church all she saw was a gold monstrance dimly lit by the red light of a small candle. She felt as if she was enveloped with a tremendous overwhelming warmth and love. She for the first time in her life felt completely safe in the dark. Hours went by before she realized that it was time to leave. After that no day went by without a visit to that place with the little red candle.
Eventually her father learned of her daily visits to the church and had her contact a Catholic chaplain who eventually received her into the Church.

Beautiful story.
It's a good thing her father wasn't in Boise under Bishop Michael Driscoll. You could give yourself a hernia searching for a confessional or a tabernacle in this diocese.
