First, the thread "Challenge: A Scriptural Portrait of Mary" was never established to attack any religion. It was intended to be exactly what it was titled.

Second, establishing this thread as retaliation to a different thread is disingenuous and misleading.

Third, while I appreciate your having the "thoughtfulness" to alert me to your attack, I am not interested in being dragged into your debate. I do not acknowledge the authority of any man-made creed, and see no point in debating its merits or faults.

Finally, Religion Moderator, considering the other thread was pulled, will you allow this retaliatory thread to exist, knowing full well that its thinly veiled intent?

thank you.

thinly veiled intent

Attributing motives and reading minds are instances of "making it personal." The guideline on the Religion Forum is this: discuss the issues all you want, but don't make it personal.

Thus the complaint made against your thread was against the RF guidelines, just as the complaint here. Neither are valid.

If you wish to try the other subject again on a new thread in the Religion Forum, that is fine with me. But should it (or this) turn toxic, it will be locked or pulled.

I do not acknowledge the authority of any man-made creed, and see no point in debating its merits or faults.

So, the Apostle's Creed is now "man made"? Can you find ANY scriptural issues with it? To the best of my knowledge, it is used by ALL mainline Protestant denominations and I am not aware of any credible Protestant theologian ever questioning its validity.

Let's not forget that MEN wrote the books of the Bible, obviously they were inspired, but it is these same men (the Apostles) who first voiced the essense of this Creed.

You accuse me of attack. I ask again, what attack?
