He really does proceed from the Father AND the Son.

The Second Coming is the Holy Spirit? The filioque is which aspect of the Trinune lord summons the Holy Spirit.

I agree with you. There was no shortage of vocations to the priesthood in the 1960s and, of course, priests were required to be celibate then just as they are now. Celibacy is not the reason that vocations to the priesthood (and religious life) have declined. The factors you cite are all reasons. And here are a few more reasons. In the 1960s, 65% of Catholics in the U.S. attended Mass every Sunday. Today, fewer than 33% of Catholics do. Catholics who do not attend Mass are not going to become priests or religious. Catholic couples who contracept or who divorce are not going to have children who enter the priesthood or religious life.

The decision of the Eastern Churches in 690 to permit their married clergy to practice only periodic abstinence rather than perpetual abstinence was a significant deviation from the ancient practice of both East and West.

That's simply not true. It is inline with the practice since the time of Aaron.

chip never presents evedence only crazy eyed protestant assertions, he's lied at least 3 times after getting 10+ links on each subject to reputable sources. He never cites his own, just continues spouting information he knows is false.

Catolic Priests have the right to marry now. They simply lose their faculties when they do and may not function as priests anymore.
