Longenecker had to agree, prior to ordination, that if his wife precedes him in death that he will then adopt the discipline of celibacy for the remainder of his life.

Most orders take a vow of poverty.

My question is like if a Ukrainian Catholic priest applies to be the priest at a Latin Rite church will they take him.

That would never happen. He is ordained in the Ukrainian Rite, not the Latin Rite. Even if he were bi-ritual, he remains Ukrainian Catholic.

Would a Greek Orthodox priest ever apply to the Russian Orthodox Church? I believe this is the same thing. Maronite is Maronite, etc.

NYer, I remember reading about a ROCOR priest who became a Melkite Catholic priest. Did you ever hear about that? I may be completely wrong on this. I can't find anything about it now.

No but then again, I may have also missed the story.

Beside, the demographic demise of the West is such that SOMEBODY's gotta breed.... maybe we can't afford celibacy any more? Priests having 12 kids each might be the best thing that could happen.

*************

That's the best argument I've heard yet supporting the marriage of Priests.
