Papacy follows that model (as Pope Clement forcefully explains in his letter to the Corinthians, where he compares himself to Aaron). Had Pope Clement been a bit more familiar with scripture he would have understood that the priesthood of Aaron was an imperfect (and eventually corrupt) priesthood. The writer of Hebrews understood this where he compares Christ as our high priest after the order of Melchisedec-not Aaron. (Heb 4-5)

the priesthood of Aaron was an imperfect (and eventually corrupt) priesthood [...] he compares Christ as our high priest after the order of Melchisedec-not Aaron. (Heb 4-5) And we had corrupt Popes. The comparison St, Clement offers is solid: papacy is leadership of one imperfect and corruptible man, send by perfect high priest Christ.
