I take it to mean not that all the gifts are given to each member but that each member has some gift, and member A may have a gift which member B does not have while member B may have one (or more) which member A does not have.

I see nothing to dispute in that statement!

Well, here's the awkward bit: I think we would use it, along with Caesaria Phillipi (or is it Philippi - this is one of those things I can NEVER remember), the Easter appearance in the upper room, and the Holy Spirit descending on (Mary and) the Twelve (When Matthias was brought up from the bench) to say that "binding and loosing" would not be a chrism shared by all.

Please believe me that I'm not saying this with "Aha! GOTcha!," in my alleged mind, but to delineate the different way we go with the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
