Ignorant, maybe, but not "simply ignorant". Thanks to iconoclast Protestantism our culture is severely impoverished. A healthy culture would have crucifixions and marian shrines at every bus stop. We don't -- but Christian heart still longs for them and find them in the strangest of places.

Funny, but that Catholic roadside shrine reminds me of Shinto roadside shrines that I would see in Japan.

I'm behind you on that one, annalex, but only if we make it verses from Scripture and an empty cross (as big as you want.)

You're right, however. Our culture is sick because much of our culture is godless (or so it thinks.)
