Many are called but few are chosen. God calls all, but chooses some

God calls even on those He knows He will not choose? Don't you think the reality is that God calls on all but some respond? Oh, wait, there is no free will, right? Even when God knocks on your door you can't open it; He has to do everything for you. That's cozy. Just lay back and enjoy the ride...if you are on his "lucky list." Deep, real deep.

God commands but then He must give us what He commands. Don't look at me but this was Augustine's analysis which I happen to believe is a correct analysis of God's nature.

Nope. I once thought that way but it's simply not true. It doesn't line up with scripture.

Oh, wait, there is no free will, right?

Man has a will that is bent to do things opposed to God. Only when the Son sets us free from this bondage will we be free to exercise our will. God then guides us on paths of righteousness for His name sake as His ambassadors.

Yep. That's it. He's the Shepherd. We're the sheep. He leads us by still waters. It is nice and cozy. We should pray, witness, and tithe and everything else; but if our prayers don't get answered or we see no one come to Christ or new bibles don't get purchased, it's all because of God's will. Don't worry. Be happy.

That's what being a child is all about.
