"Are any of these writings considered "inspired" by the Church? Could they be in error?"
To the extent that they reflect, each one individually, the consensus patrum as perceived, accepted and lived by The Church, they are true statements, but they are not truth because The Church says so, but rather because The Church recognizes truth.
In other words, the Chruch actually gives them the same status as what the Church has stated to be the "inspired" word. Is that correct?
