Orthodox churches have a more home-like atmosphere. That's because the church is our spiritual home, heaven on earth, we say. The church is where we, as the Cherubic Hymn says, "set aside all earthly cares." :) Thank you for your wonderful descriptions. I know that I will attend an Orthodox service sometime, and this is very helpful to me to know what to expect.

Thank you for your wonderful descriptions. I know that I will attend an Orthodox service sometime, and this is very helpful to me to know what to expect You Tube has plenty on the Orthodox services. Of course, one has to know what's going on. The examples they have are very picturesque, but unless you have someone whispering in your ear what everything means it will be a learning curve.
Personally, the moment I enter a church, I leave this earth and leave all my arguments behind.
