What is the difference and how is the Bible not the word of God?

Inspired means that the author was given the truth spiritually, not verbally. Inspired literally means 'in-breathed.' The author provides the words in context of the truth.

Dictated means that God says to the author: "Write down this exactly as I tell you: in the begnning was..." That would mean that any change, of any word, any omission or deletion, addition, mistranslation, would literally misquote God.
