[I was a little surprised by this week's piece; I had been under the impression that Anglicans Online was rather down on the Continuing churches. I am encouraged that they visit.
They've got a point about the fractioning, but I think the whimsical "Anglican Dream-Church Syndrome" does not fit what I have observed. There have been good reasons for cutting communion, often leading (initially) to the small, angry groups but soon either the anger or the group disappears. (My own parish had a few of the "angry" when we joined -- but no more.) And my own province has taken careful look at the sources of the troubles and drafted (and revised) its canons accordingly.
In my discussions with Continuing Anglicans in other provinces one thing that stands out is that we all appear to have to same desire for reunification. I've been told this, and am coming to believe it, that the hindrance is from the bishops. (My own bishop has pointed up some of the difficult hurdles involved in reunification -- but there is still commuunications, and sometime cooperative agreements, between the provinces.)
I do not know how to push the bishops harder, but I would like to see more work put into (re-)unity. --sionnsar]
