The TECleft thinks it's found a scandal in the TECright:
Perhaps even more ironically, Bishop Schofield is a "recovering homosexual" committed to celibacy: the kind of gay bishop that Archbishop Akinola can accept.
Which prompted this classy response from a certain mid-Missouri lesbian:
Now, it all begins to make sense to me. I am familiar with this kind of self-loathing person who attacks gay men and lesbians! Lord knows, we saw African-Americans like this during the civil rights movement in the 1960s and ’70s. We had a word for them.

If Gene Robinson had made the same sort of statement three years ago, you probably wouldn’t be reading this site right now because I wouldn’t have started writing about the Anglicans because the Current Unpleasantness would never have happened. This is one more indication that TEC "reconciliation" means our way or the highway.
The scandal here, of course, is not what the TECleft thinks it is. Publicly, they think Schofield's a hypocrite. But to the TECleft, the real scandal is that Schofield believes that homosexual activity is not "normal" and ought not to be engaged in. That it's a sin. And that is something the TECleft cannot forgive.
